The Tangled Shore is really just the beginning. While the Reef's lawless frontier is the first new patrol zone you'll find in Destiny 2: Forsaken, there's another, much grander destination on offer once you finish the main campaign. It's the Dreaming City, an ethereal endgame zone that's currently struggling a bit with your run of the mill "ancient curse" issues. I'm sure we'll be discovering hidden puzzles and treasure in the weeks to come, but to start with you'll need to actually get there. You'll need to start by finishing the campaign, which you were likely going to do anyways. So kill those barons, view the morally ambiguous cutscene and do what you need to do. Once you're done you can go back to Spider and Petra in the Tangled Shore, where you'll get a broken talisman that will light your way to the Dreaming City.

Completing the main questline in Destiny 2: Forsaken will see players not only bring the killer of Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6 to justice, but also get back in touch with former ally Petra Venj. Speaking to Petra Venj at the end of the campaign will reward players with the Broken Awoken Talisman, a key necessary to unlocking the Dreaming City. Speaking to Spider begins the quest Key of Light and Darkness, which will result in unlocking the Dreaming City as a patrol zone.

How to get into the Dreaming City in Destiny 2: Forsaken
Destiny 2 Forsaken is live and Guardians are hot on the heels of Uldren Sov - the murderer of Cayde-6 on who Guardians have sworn revenge. But exacting revenge isn't all Forsaken has to offer. For instance, there's the Dreaming City - a new location to explore that's the homeworld of the Awoken and host of next week's raid, Last Wish. The Dreaming City is a strange place, half within the Guardians' reality and half within the Ascendant Plane. Physics behave oddly in the Dreaming City, and it changes, never appearing exactly the same from one visit to the next. However, unlike the Tangled Shore - a new area of the Reef that's open to explore - which becomes available after completing the first mission in Forsaken , the Dreaming City is an end-game location, meaning Guardians need to be of a higher power level to access it.
Destiny 2's Broken Awoken Talisman quest comes at the end of the Forsaken walkthrough.
